Historic Restorations

Wolfhaus, Ltd. is proud to restore historic buildings to the glory of their heyday.  Some folks feel that the history found in these old building is the best part of their home.  "We don’t just restore log cabins, we create new one of a kind homes with character and history," comments Steve Herndon, president of Wolfhaus, Ltd.

We are equipped to cut new logs to replace any that are damaged.  Our craftsmen love to find ways to use good portions of the old damaged logs in the restored home.  We have used the good portion of some damaged logs to make the steps to the second floor loft.  Fireplace mantles have been crafted from portions of damaged logs or timbers.  We are only limited by our imagination.

One of our favorite historic restorations was of the Loveland Historical Society 1800’s gazebo. Only the roof and a small portion of the gazebo remained.  We used photographs and the remaining parts to duplicate the necessary parts.
Wolfhaus handcrafted the pieces needed to restore this gazebo to its former beauty.
This cabin was in Chilo, Ohio and had to be torn down due to flood regulations.
We rescued it and restored onto a farm nearby.
This cabin was relocated from Marathon, Ohio.  It had a rear addition which housed the kitchen and bath.  There was a central fireplace at one time.

Sardinia, Ohio was the site from which we moved this cabin.  It was moved to its present location and merged with an old log barn.
The kitchen and bath are located in the rear portion of the home now.  The great room boasts a true masonry fireplace utilizing stone from the property.
